RACING A 1957 FERRARI THROUGH ITALY
RIDE ALONG WITH JEFF GAULT ON THE 2026 MILLE MIGLIA
In August 2025 I purchased 1957 Ferrari 250GT low roof Boano - 0673 GT. The intent was to drive it in the 2026 Mille Miglia which I’d raced before in a 1955 Jaguar XK140FHC and a 1953 Lincoln Capri. The 10 month restoration plan appeared feasible…little did I know the sleepless nights the CKL team would endure to meet the deadline. But they did. And racing a 1957 Ferrari through the heart of Italy in a car born from the same era was a joy. The Ferrari performed flawlessly in the countryside hills and roads. The walled cities a bit of stress. But worth the time and effort.
- JEFF GAULT
The Ferrari loves 4000 to 6000 rpm.
It does not like slow…4000 rpm is 120kph.
