SILVERSTONE FESTIVAL
CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF THE HISTORIC FESTIVAL
August Bank Holiday weekend (22-24) saw the 35th and final running of the Silverstone Festival, one of the first Historic racing events. Originally called the Christie’s BRDC Historic Festival, over the years it has swelled into one of the largest and most celebrated events of its type in the world.
The CKL team were there to support our racing customers, who enjoyed fantastic racing all round with some excellent results.
CKL results from Silverstone 2025:
Woodcote Trophy - 1st in class and 2nd overall - Jaguar XK140 Gomm Special
Stirling Moss Trophy - 1st in class and 2nd overall - Lister-Jaguar Knobbly BHL152
Stirling Moss Trophy - 2nd in class and 4th overall - Lister-Chevrolet Costin BHL124
In the Royal Automobile Club Stirling Moss Trophy, John Spiers and Nigel Greensall came a remarkable second overall and took the class win in the Lister Knobbly BHL 152. BHL124, the green Lister-Chevrolet Costin which we restored just in time for this season’s racing came second in class, and narrowly missed out on third overall, finishing P4, with an incredible drive.
The mighty Gomm XK140 Special also won its class in the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy, finishing second overall, beating some very fast machinery including D-types and Listers.
The Silverstone Festival 2025 closed to a display by the British Army’s Red Devils Parachute Display Team, while Ministry of Sound Classical’s live show brought the curtain down on proceedings. Reflecting on 17 years at the helm, event director Nick Wigley said: “Without a doubt, this has been another fantastic weekend – one of the very best. The racing was absolutely brilliant, the family entertainment was incredible and even the British Bank Holiday weather played its part. I couldn’t be happier that we’ve signed off on such a massive high.”
Thank you to Nick and the team at Motor Racing Legends for organising a fantastic weekend of racing, and as always, thanks to everyone on the CKL team for all of their hard work.
