Chassis 887147 is a genuine 1962 E-Type LHD fixed-head-coupe which left the Jaguar factory on 16 October 1962, supplied to Briggs Cunningham’s Jaguar Cars New York dealership.

When the car returned to the UK it was restored by Lynx and uprated to 1962 semi-lightweight competition specification, including the fitment of a tool room replica ‘Low Drag’ body.

Since 2009 the car has since been looked after by CKL and is fitted with a CKL 3.8-litre competition engine with triple weber carburettors producing 325bhp and 368lb/ft of torque. The car is fitted with a 100 litre long range fuel tank and an additional 22 litre auxiliary tank, and with tanks empty weighs 1119 kg.

In addition to competing in the Fordwater Trophy at Goodwood Revival, 5497 WK has also competed in the Spa Six Hours multiple times, with a best finish of 3rd in Class and 15th overall.

With a current FIA HTP, the car represents an extremely attractive and competitive entry to racing events around the world.
