It’s the people and the stories that make a brand. We were thrilled to be part of  the Great British Jaguar Day on Saturday at Bicester - with perhaps the greatest collection of Jaguars ever assembled. Our new Head of Research - Simon Aldridge @octanesimon - curated a display of 7 very special cars, each with very special stories.

We will be telling those stories over the coming days…here’s a list of what to look forward to:

Jaguar XK120 Works - Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons gifted XK120 KRW 923 to his son, John, on his 21st birthday. John used the Works car on the 1953 RAC Rally.

Jaguar C-type - XKC 015 was owned and raced by future Le Mans winner and F1 podium-finisher Masten Gregory throughout the 1953 SCCA season in America, winning twice.

Jaguar D-type Works OKV 2 - OKV2, chassis XKD 403, was the fastest car at Le Mans in 1954 in the hands of Stirling Moss, but it retired during the night with gearbox issues.

Lister Knobbly BHL 105 - Le Mans 1958 - BHL 105 was delivered new to the famous Ecurie Belge in 1958 and is the only Lister Knobbly to have lined up at Le Mans.

Jaguar E-type FHC RHD 860015 - 860015 was the 15th E-type built and the first sold publicly in Britain, straight off the Scottish Motor Show stand in 1961 to 22-year-old Nick Moor.

Jaguar Lightweight E-type 4 WPD - 4 WPD is one of the most famous racing E-types, having been the first of the 12 Competition Lightweights built. Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori, Jack Brabham and Jackie Stewart - all raced it for John Coombs.

Jaguar Lightweight E-type 850666 - The ninth Lightweight, YVH 120 was raced by owner/driver Peter Sutcliffe at Goodwood, Silverstone and the Nürburgring, as well as 10th at Spa in 1963.

Thank you to all the lovely people behind the scenes at the Chris Harris and Friends podcast, Bicester Motion and Car & Classic for making the GBJD happen. It was great to see all the Jaguars out and about, catch up with old friends and make some new ones.

Huge thank you to the team at CKL and the owners of the fabulous Motorcars for allowing us to put them on display.
