Chassis 887147 is a genuine 1962 E-Type LHD fixed-head-coupe which left the Jaguar factory on 16 October 1962, supplied to Briggs Cunningham’s Jaguar Cars New York dealership.
When the car returned to the UK it was restored by Lynx and uprated to 1962 competition specification, including the fitment of a tool room replica ‘Low Drag’ body.
The car has since been looked after by CKL and is fitted with a CKL 3.8-litre competition engine with triple weber carburettors producing 325 bhp on the rolling road dyno and 368 lb ft of torque. The car is fitted with a 100 litre long range fuel tank and an additional 22 litre auxiliary tank, and with tanks empty weighs 1119 kg.
With a current FIA HTP, the car represents an extremely attractive and competitive entry into pre-63 GT racing events around the world.
